Web12 feb. 2024 · This numerical study investigates the flow-induced vibration responses and energy harvesting characteristics of a low-mass square oscillator. We first test three typical incidence angles of α = 0°, 22.5°, and 45° with reduced velocities Ur ranging from 3.8 to 26. Webtion, on the vortex-induced vibration (VIV) and galloping responses. Simu-lations are conducted for aspect ratios of 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 1 and 1.25 and reduced velocities ranging from 1 to 30. Distinct VIV lock-in and galloping regimes are found for all the aspect ratios except α=0.3, for which only VIV lock-in is found.
