Osex allows for more manual control over sex scenes while Sexlab has automatic sex animations with different stages that last for a brief period before progressing to the next stage. The "final" stage of a sex animation allows for climax. I prefer Sexlab because of it's ease of use. Haven't gotten used to OSex yet. What the tool is doing is just generating an xml file listing all animations "path/id" to OSA, so it can launch them.
